SOPHOMORE SMOKER TO BE HELD NEXT TUESDAY

COGAN, BULLARD AND GOLD COAST ORCHESTRA ON PROGRAM

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Next Tuesday evening has been set as the definite date for the Sophomore smoker, which is to be held in the Living Room of the Union. The speakers have been chosen and final plans are being concluded.

President Lowell heads the list of three who will address the gathering. President Lowell was not a speaker at the 1928 smoker held last May and so will address the class for the third time since its entrance to college. He spoke to them at a meeting in the Union in the fall of 1924, and at the get-together for the choice of field of concentration last spring.

The Faculty speaker will be Professor R. B. Perry of the Department of Philosophy, and the undergraduates will be represented on the platform by W. I. Nichols '26.

A number of features have been planned for the occasion. The Gold Coast orchestra has agreed to provide music during the intervals between speeches. A special feature will be singing by B. S. Cogan '23, and R. P. Bullard '24, former stars in several Hasty Pudding productions. The accompaniment will be rendered by W. C. Harris '28.

A special table has been arranged for the speakers and the committee, which consists of W. G. Saltonstall, chairman, Eduardo Andrade, J. W. Baldwin, D. P. Donaldson, J. C. Dreier, W. C. Harris, W. B. Jones, P. H. Nitze, Carl Pforzhelmer, J. L. Pool, F. H. Van Peski, and Moses Williams.
