The Purdue football team was surprised and disappointed at Harvard's weakness in Saturday's game, according to a statement made by Chester Wilcox, captain of the Boilermakers, to a CRIMSON reporter.
Wilcox went on to say "We were not so much interested in the Harvard game. We came over east to test our attack and give it a few finishing touches by playing a strong team, but the attack itself is intended for the Big Ten Conference. Our league is in the West."
When he was asked whether he saw any fundamental difference between western and eastern football, he said, "I guess they're made a little tougher in the West."
Harvey Olson, who played the pivot position for Purdue during must of the game, said concerning the game, said concerning the game, "The Harvard backs were all right, but somehow they couldn't get away."
