For the first practice of the 1927 baseball season the University battery candidates will report to Coach Mitchell in the cage today at 2 o'clock, and the Freshman battery aspirants at 4 o'clock. All men are to report dressed.

Three veteran pitchers from last year's championship nine, F. B. Cutts '28, J. N. Barbee '28 and R. H. Booth '27 are expected to be present as well as some promising twirlers from last year's Freshman outfit. For the catcher's berth Henry Chauncey '28 and E. J. Steptoe '29 are expected to stage a close race. Chauncey caught for the University team last year and Steptoe was a pitcher on the first year nine. He is to be given a chance behind the plate because of his batting ability and certain features of his playing which point him out as a potential catcher.

Next Monday the other University team aspirants will begin practice and the following week the remaining first year candidates are to report.
