Cummings to Make Survey

L. O. Cummings '10, Assistant Professor of Education in the Graduate School of Education, has been appointed by the finance commission to make preliminary study to determine the objectives of a survey of the educational system of the city of Boston.

The commission has been considering a survey of the school system for several weeks, particularly with reference to school expenditures. The upkeep of the schools in Boston takes a great share of the tax payer's dollar, and it will be Professor Cummings' task to determine the cost of surveying every part of the Boston school system, its expenditures and defects, with the hope that it may be corrected.
