The indoor polo season will start Friday, when the first practice on the new indoor field at Commonwealth Armory is held, it was announced yesterday by F. H. Gade '31, manager of the University polo team.
This year's squad will consist of ten men, comprising team A and team B and two substitutes, in addition to a Freshman quartet to be known as team C.
Most of the members of the squad have already been picked for the coming season. They are H. G. Bartol '31, F. A. Clark '29, G. O. Clark '31, E. T. Gerry '31, T. B. Glynn ocC. E. K. Jenkins '31, H. I. Nicholas '31, and F. A. Vanderlip '31.
Freshman Squad Named
The Freshman squad will be made up of the following men: A. C. Castle '32, S. A. Chandler '32, Caspern Cook '32, A. G. Howe '32, Nelson Kimbal '32, W. F. Luton '32, A. F. Megrew '32, and C. S. Tilden '32.
The National Guard polo team will probably be the first opponent on the University schedule, meeting the Crimson horsemen early in the year. Other encounters in the Armory will be with Danvers, the Ramblers, and the National Laucers; trips will be taken to West Point, Cleveland, Cincinnatti, New Haven, and the indoor intercol-University team is not eliminated in legiate matches at New York.
The captain of the University team has not yet been announced, but his appointment will take place shortly after the opening of winter practice.
