BEST OF CRIMSON FLIERS WILL EARN CLUB TROPHY

Flying Club Decides Upon Awarding of Annual Prizes Hours in Air and Skill Will be Criteria

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

At a meeting of the Flight Committee of the Harvard Flying Club held early this week a motion was adopted and plans discussed for the offering of and annual club trophy.

Under the present plans this trophy will be given to that club pilot who during the academic year makes the best record in the three following divisions: first the greatest number of hours flown in the Club plane; second the best record for safety; and third the best record for attendance and efficiency on the days on which he is on duty at the airport.

Parallels Loening Prize

The Flying Club trophy award has been conceived more or less as a parallel to the competition for the Grover Loening prize which is granted to the College Flying Club amassing the greatest number of hours in the air a year. Its again purpose will be to stimulated interest among the pilots and to them incentive for regular flying as well as increasing the emphasis upon the safety and efficiency of operation. The trophy will probably be in the form of an individual cup and a certain number of free flying hours. In addition there is the possibility of some permanent trophy being donated.
