HUPD Chief Says Harvard Yard Encampment is Peaceful, Defends Students’ Right to Protest
The Harvard and Michigan nines will meet for their second encounter this season, when the latter attempts to avenge its 8 to 5 setback administered by the University diamond forces early this season. The Wolverines were recently crowned champions of the Big Ten.
The Michigan team, undefeated by Conference aggregations during its spring campaign, is relying on Bill McAfee to hurl it to victory. He is credited with the outstanding performance of pitching 23 runless innings in succession against Big Ten nines. Asbeck, giant Wolverine moundsman who succumbed to the onslaught of the Crimson sluggers in the first encounter, may also be called on for duty in the box.
Outcome Depends on Cutts
With J. N. Barbee '28 unable to take to the mound, F. B. Cutts '28 is slated to twirl for the Harvard team. Success in today's encounter will depend largely on his ability to last nine innings at the fast pace he will be forced to travel.
F. E. Nugent '30, by his performance in the Pennsylvania and Keio clashes, seems to have won a permanent post at third base and is covering the hot corner this afternoon. The only change in the lineup comes with the announcement that R. E. Durkee '29 will cover the right field region in place of W. B. Jones '28.
