FOOTBALL SQUAD HOLDS SHORT DRILL IN CAGE

SOUTHERNERS HAVE POOR RECORD IN CONTESTS THIS SEASON

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Yesterday's football workout for the University squad was held for the first time this year in the LeBaron Briggs Cage, due to continuous rains all afternoon. Practice lasted only an hour and consisted almost entirely of work on fundamentals, signal drills, and Virgina plays.

Crickard appeared in togs, but did not work out. Moushegian and Talbot will both be unable to play tomorrow, and there is a possibility that Myerson and Hallowell may be kept out of the game also; otherwise the team is in good condition with the usual exception of Esterly.

The Southern team, although it owns an unimpressive season's record so far, showed flashes of potential power in holding a strong Maryland team down to a point lead in their second game of the year. Maryland later defeated Navy by a score of 6 to 0 and tied Kentucky.

All Harvard players will be on the bench tomorrow; Coach Casey is taking no chances of repeating last year's flasco against Williams and Mary. There is a good chance that Mays will be started at the opening whistle, since the flashy half back works much better behind fresh interference.

Lineups yesterday were as follows:

Team A: Nazro, l.e.; Hardy, l.t.; Bancroft, l.g.; Crane, c.; Myerson, r.g.; Kopans, r.t.; Hageman, r.e.; Wood, q.b.; Shereschewsky, l.h.b.; Mays, r.h.b.; White, f.b.

Team B: Record, l.e.; Faxon, l.t.; Ginman, l.g.; Cunningham, c.; Rogers, r.g.; Kales, r.t.; Francisco, r.e.; Wells, q.b.; Peter, l.h.b.; Dean, r.h.b.; Nevin, f.b.
