Yesterday 50 University tennis team candidates turned out at the Freshman Gymnasium for the opening meeting of the season. Six letter men and several good prospects from last year's Freshman tea reported.

Captain M. T. Hill '31 spoke on the European trip which is planned, and Coach Harry Cowles followed with a general talk to the squad. Practice will be held in the New Indoor Athletic Building until the Easter vacation, when the team will journey to Norfolk to play William and Mary. Meanwhile test matches will be held in the gymnasium.

The University tennis team will have a record of 28 successive victories to sustain this spring. The six letter men who came out yesterday are: W. L. Breese '31, D. M. Frame '31, Captain Hill, A. C. Ingraham '31, A. W. Patterson '32, and R. L. Tower '31, most of whom have just finished a successful squash season.

It is expected that the Divinity School tennis courts will be put into condition for the team when it returns from the trip, and the grand stand erected and repaired. Until the recess the squad will utilize the two courts in the Indoor Athletic Building along with the Freshman netmen, to the exclusion of all others, in the afternoon. The accommodations are more convenient than those used for years at the Longwood Country Club in Brookline.
