New York, N.Y., April 2--At a late hour tonight the members of the Harvard University fencing team were making the best showing in the foils semi-finals of the Intercollegiate Fencing Association championships being held in the Hotel Astor.

Thus far Harvard has won from the Navy swordsmen 7 to 2 and the New York University fencers 6 to 3. From the early showings made by the teams it was evident that the University's strongest opponent in the foils would be the Army.

The Cadets won both team and individual first honors in the epee division. No Harvard team was competing for honors in this weapon, but K.R. Ludlam '33, the University's entrant for individual competition, did not place. The sabre team was defeated by Princeton 3 to 1.

The Harvard foils team is composed of H.C. Cassidy '31, H.B. Wesselman '31, and J.D. Allen '31, while the sabremen are W.M. Wing '32 and R.B. Lawson '32.
