PREP SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY MEET DISCONTINUED BY H.A.A.

Smaller Schools Competed With Large Schools to Disadvantage

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

New York City and other metropolitan cross-country teams will be sorry to hear that the Harvard Athletic Association cross-country run for high schools and prep schools has been discontinued. The Association announces that inability to lay out a course around Soldiers Field which would provide proper facilities for testing the schoolboys' ability, forced the cancelation.

Smaller schools were put into competition with larger prep schools and the entry did not warrant segregation of classes, the association explained. New York City schools were usually successful in this invitation run, and looked upon it as their most important meet.
