BROWN NINE CHALLENGES CRIMSON OUTFIT TODAY

HARVARD RUNNING INTO HARDEST PART OF SCHEDULE NOW

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A plucky Brown outfit, famous for its pitchers, but considerably weakened by recent injuries, faces an uncertain Harvard varsity here at 4 o'clock today, in the continuation of a 64 years baseball rivalry. Harvard is running into a hard stretch of its schedule, and is suffering from a disorganization brought about by the Holy Cross batsmen in an exciting scoring surge in the ninth inning of Saturday's fatal clash in Worcester.

Harvard had the edge on the Bruins last year, but in 1930 the Providence nine drubbed the Crimson badly in both encounters of a two-game series. The Brown team never looks too good on paper, but is disastrously adept at causing upsets.

Brown Chances Fair

Its record this season shows six victories and four defeats, which includes a freak defeat at the hands of a lucky Middlebury team, and two expected losses in clashes with Holy Cross. The invaders chief bid for success on Soldiers Field this afternoon is pitcher Humphries, who as a freshman hurled a 12 to 3 walk-away over the Harvard first-year men.
