No More Students Enroll at Employment Office Than Last Year--Work Now Directed Toward Summer Jobs

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

It has been revealed at the Student Employment Office in the basement of University Hall that during the first three months, or up to January 1, 1933. 1042 men have applied for assistance in getting jobs, as against 1049 men who applied within this time last year. As yet it has not been determined from loose records how much assistance has actually been received.

At the present time the office is working primarily on the promotion of summer positions. Several thousand concerns that have in the past used men from colleges in the summer, such as hotels and camps, are being approached by the office in connection with the possible employment of students. An announcement of the availability of members of the University for positions as resident tutors, tutor-companions, or yachting assistants is also being made by the Employment Bureau.
