INSTITUTE WILL TEACH PROFESSORS ABOUT NRA

Appointment of Sub-committee to Make Arrangements Announced by State Junior Recovery Board

Plans for holding an institute for professors and teachers of economics in the colleges and preparatory schools of Massachusetts were made yesterday at a meeting of the Junior NRA Committee of the Massachusetts State Recovery Board. The purpose of the institute would be to correctly inform all teachers and professors of the fundamentals of the NRA so that they in turn may interpret them for their students and pupils.

It was decided to appoint a sub-committee, which would make all arrangements for this institute, choosing a suitable time and place and securing speakers, thoroughly familiar with the NRA program from its inception, so that the professors may hear informative, educational and authoritative talks on the subject. Thus they would be presented with an authentic interpretation of the program for their own benefit and for the benefit of their students.

Speakers would be chosen from those who are acquainted with the various phases of the program. The addresses and discussions following them would be based on the several important phases, such as reduced hours, the NRA as it applies to employment, to increased wages and to social benefits, as well as to similar aspects.
