Scoring in every event but the low hurdles and totalling 131 out of a possible 225 points, Harvard coasted to victory in the G.B.I. meet last Saturday, while the Freshmen won their part of the meet with a commanding score of 111 points. Eight new records were made and two old ones were tied with ideal weather conditions and a fast track aiding the track and field contestants.
Coming up in the last 100 yards and running shoulder to shoulder with Joe Lang of Boston College, Arthur Foote II, '33, Crimson distance ace, took first place in the 2-mile run for the most sensational finish of the meet, winning by a matter of inches. J. H. Dean '34, footfall captain-elect, broke both the shot put and the discus records, while Captain Dodge shattered the previous quarter-mile mark.
Outstanding in the Freshman events was R. S. Playfair '36, who won the yearling 2-mile race by almost 200 yards. D. C. Crawford '36 took first places in both Freshman hurdles, and F. J. Lane '36 won the 100 and 220 yard dashes.
