STUDENTS TO INSPECT LANDSCAPING PROJECTS

TO STUDY IN WILDERNESS AREA OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

An inspection of state and federal projects in New Hampshire and Vermont will be made by students of the Graduate School of Landscape Architecture, leaving here next Saturday.

The tour is evidence of a new trend in the professional field of landscape architecture, a shift of emphasis from private estates to public recreational areas, according to Professor Bremer W. Pond, Chairman of the Council of the School and director of the field trip.

The student group will make a week's study of a wilderness area of several miles in New Hampshire and work out detailed plans for the development of the land as a possible state or national park. Returning to Cambridge, the men will prepare their plans for the proposed park, with complete sketches and written reports.
