A series of public lectures on "Music as a Part of General Culture" will be given by Dr. Bugo Leichtentritt '94, noted German authority on music, in Paine Hall of the Music Building, beginning Wednesday, February 7, at 4.30 o'clock and continuing on Monday afternoons thereafter.
The relation of music to literatures, architecture, fine arts, and philosophy will be dealt with in the lectures.
Dr. Leichtentritt has been a Visiting Lecturer on Music at Harvard during the current year, under the Horatio Appleton Lamb Fund. He graduated from Harvard in 1894 and took his doctor's degree in Berlin 1901. For the last 20 years he has been a teacher of composition and history of music at a well know conservatory of music in Berlin.
