Beginning today, Freshman aspirants for rooms in the Houses next year will have the opportunity to confer with their prospective Masters and associates, according to a notice given out by Dean Hanford.
Left vacant by graduating members of the Senior Class will be approximately 500 places of which Eliot and Lowell House have the largest number, 93 and 90 respectively. At Winthrop and Dunster there will be room for 64, and at Leverett and Adams 62.
Ultimate assignment or members of the Class of 1940 to the seven Houses will be the responsibility of a Central Committee which consists of the President, the Dean of the College, and the Dean of Freshmen. Final admission depends on the House Master.
