The Crimson sports world closed with mixed feelings Saturday night, as two football teams were defeated, and varsity soccer registered a deolded victory. But even in its defeats there were mixed feelings, for from the performances of the Harlow and Stahley elevens no small amount of moral gratification was derived.
Cornell mopped the field with 20 points in the Stadium but Crimson fans saw a vastly Improved home team, and they observed also that a 20-pound underweight line held the Big Red brulsers five times within its own 30-yard line. And the Freshman team too, with scarcely three days of scrimmage together held an experienced Exeter team to a 3-point field goal.
Things started aright for the soccer team, however, for its triumphed over its first New England League opponent, Tufts, by five goals, leaving the invaders scoreless.
