YARDLINGS WHITEWASH WEAK WORCESTER, 19-0

McNICOL RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL THREE SCORES

Led by the stellar performance of tailback Don McNicol, Skip Stahley's Yardlings took Worcester into camp Saturday, 19 to 0. The schoolboys never seriously threatened to score; it was the Crimson all the way.

Showing more teamwork and far better blocking than last week, the Freshmen made their initial tally early in the first period, on a down-the-field march sparked by McNicol's tricky off-tackle running, and then a 25-yard pass, McNicol to Loring. The conversion failed.

From then on the Stahleymen were somewhat erratic, failing to reach pay dirt again until the third quarter, although they had possession of the ball about nine-tenths of the time. Worcester's only offensive drive in the entire contest came after the half, with a couple of end runs which accounted for slight gains.

McNicol's third-period touchdown came with a short but spectacular bit of running and Harvard again failed to convert. Early in the last stanza the visiting Freshmen made their last tally, as left end Barnes snagged another McNicol aerial and lugged the leather the remaining ten yards across the touchdown stripe.
