WESLEYAN TAKES 53-37 VICTORY FROM QUINTET

Bud Finegan and Bill Webber Share High Scoring Honors in One-Sided Contest

By John C. Robbins jr.

For the third time in four games the Crimson basketball team went down to defeat last night before a five that was just too good, losing to Wesleyan by a 53 to 37 score. This evening they return to the home floor to meet Boston University, who will be opening their season with the game.

Outplayed from beginning to end, the Harvard quintet was behind all the way, trailing at the half, 24 to 16.

Finegan, Webber Lead

Bud Finegan and Bill Webber shared scoring honors for the Crimson, scoring 11 and 10 points. Finegan sank four field goals and three free shots, while Webber earned his entire total on shots from the floor.

Captain Charley Lutz ran third with three field goals and a foul shot for a seven point total. Ed Buckley scored three, while Joe Romano, Ed Rothschild, and Jack Penson got credit for two points apiece.

B. U. Strong

The Crimson will have another chance to get back on the winning track again when a strong B. U. team invades the Indoor Athletic Building tonight. The Terriers lost to Harvard last year in one of the closest games of the year, as the Feslermen came from behind in the closing minutes to close up a gap in the score and win.

Coach Wes Fesler will probably start the same team tonight that started against Wesleyan last night, with Finegan and Buckley at the guards, Rothschild at center, and Lutz and Webber at the forwards.

B. U. will have the veterans Captain Jack Rotman and John King at guards, Walter Williams at center, and James McCuddy and George Pantane at the forwards.

The Freshmen will play at 7:30 o'clock in a preliminary to the Varsity game.
