With a full slate of faculty members and alumni as guest speakers, the Harvard Memorial Society will hold its annual banquet in the Chambers of the Society of Fellows in Eliot House at 7 o'clock Tuesday night.
Toastmaster of the evening will be Samuel E. Morison '08, professor of History. William J. Bingham '16, Director of Athletics, will comment on early Harvard trophies, and Charles H. Watkins '09, Reginald Fitz '06, Marshal of the University, and Philip P. Chase '00, lecture and tutor, will speak.
An annual event since the founding of the society in 1895, the dinners always consist of speeches by members of the University and the singing of Harvard songs. The Colonial silver of Harvard, brought from the Fogg Museum for the occasion, will be used on the table. Most valuable piece in the silver collection is the "Great Salt" dating from 1644.
