The Amherst linksmen handed the Crimson golfing forces their second defeat in as many starts yesterday afternoon at Belmont when they picked up 2 1/2 points in the best ball matches for a narrow 5 to 4 decision over the home team.
Ace Cordingley, Captain Jack Barr, and Henry Thompson won their individual matches, and Bob Graves finished all even with his opponents. Bill Calfee dropped his match, as did Watty Dickerman, but it was the series of best ball matches which spelled defeat for the Crimson. Only the Cordingley-Graves due was able to salvage even a half point.
