Eight Seniors on Council Will Act as Ex-Officio Members, Sullivan Announces

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Five Juniors and four sophomores have been named as the Nominating Committee for the Student Council elections for the year 1939-40. Members ex-office of the committee will be the eight non-office holding Seniors on the Council.

Richard H. Sullivan '39, President of the Council, announced last night that the following Juniors were to serve: John H. Sisson, Robert H. Glazer, G. Scott Olive, Jr., George Dana, and Harold Glickman. Sophomores on the committee are: Francis Simpson, Richard Abernathy, Seth Crocker, and Joseph P. Lyford.

Amory Heads Committee

The committee will meet for the first time on Wednesday, May 17, under the chairmanship of Cleveland Amory '39.

Petitions bearing the names of 25 undergraduates will be received by Sullivan for the nomination of other men from either class. Announcement of all men nominated will be made in the CRIMSON on Monday, May 22.

Election Before Exams

The final election will fall immediately preceding the examination period. The nine successful nominees will then meet to select eight other undergraduates for the Council.

Dana and Crocker are from Eliot House; Sisson from Leverett; Glazer from Winthrop; Lyford from Lowell; Olive from Adams; Simpson from Kirkland; Abernathy from Dunster; and Glickman represents the Commuters.

The Council election will be managed by the Seniors of the organization, with Sullivan directly in charge.
