Studies of milk production, marriage selection, land use and development of religious toleration were among the researches financed by $34,058, it was stated in a report released yesterday by Professor John D. Black, chairman of the Harvard Committee on Research in the Social Sciences.

Over 34 members of the faculty were aided in carrying our 45 research projects on social subjects such as "The Cost of Distribution in the United States and Europe" and "The Structure of Industrial Markets with Relation to Monopoly and Competition."

Under the aid of the committee 21 investigators published the results of their research in book form and in scholarly periodicals. This is the ninth year of operation of the Committee under a grant from the Rockefeller Foundation.

Among the more important books published was Professor E. P. Herring's "Politics of Democracy" now used for collateral reports in Government 1.
