Crimson Courtsters Face Penn Today After Columbia Victory

Racquetmen Overpower Light Blue As Gilkey and Burt Star at New York

NEW YORK CITY, April 19--The Harvard Varsity tennis team, headed by Captain Dave Burt and Langdon Gilkey, had too much all around strength down the line for the Columbia netmen and won. For the Crimson it was the first intercollegiate victory of the year.

Coach Jack Barnaby had an allveteran not squad to send on the firing line against the Morningsiders, and experience was valuable in gaining the team triumph for Harvard. He had six Seniors starting their last year of play together, and they had little difficulty in overcoming the challenge of the Light Blue of Columbia.

Meet Penn Today

In their second match of the season, in which the Crimson netmen are also rated as prohibitive favorites, the Harvard racquetmen will meet the Penn Quakers in Philadelphia. The match takes place this afternoon, and should provide the Barnabymen with their second victory in as many starts--in the space of two days.
