Thomas H. Eliot '28, Democratic representative from the ninth congressional district, will speak on "Democratic Defense: Must We Sacrifice Civil Liberties and Social Gains?" at 4 o'clock this afternoon in Kirkland House Common Room.
Helped by many Harvard students, "Tom" Eliot defeated Representative Robert Luce '82 In last November's elections. Lately, he went on record with one out of five votes against continuing the Dies committee.
Before his election, Eliot was a Government section man here, and was Wages and Hours Administrator for New England.
