SEACOST DIM-OUT NOT BINDING HERE

Only Lights on Tower Must Be Extinguished During War

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Although the Eastern Seacoast under-went a war-time dim-out last night which will probably be in effect for the duration, the University will only be mildly affected by the anti-glare campaign, chief air warden, Aldrich Durant announced yesterday.

Except for the dimming of outside lights with shields and the permanent extinguishing of the brilliant illumination in the House towers, no action will be taken. However, more details of the plan are being issued today; and, should the situation require, instructions will be issued to the students.

New Evacuation Plans

At the same time, ARP officials described changes in the previously-announced system of evacuation of College buildings in case of attack. The new organization deals with Sever; instead of sending the men to shelters around the Yard, with the exception of those who live within five minutes walk, all students will go into the blacked out corridors on the first, second, and third floors of Sever.

Signs are being posted in strategic places around the University, directing the way to the nearest shelter, and more complete placards, naming the warden, nearest Red Cross station, and other data, are also being tacked up in the college buildings.
