"Lost Harizon"

At the Majestic

Two of Robert Riskin's better pictures. "Lost Horizon," and "It Happened One Night," now running at the Majestic are seven and eight years old respectively, but are both good, sound pictures and genuine entertainment.

Enjoyment of "It Happened One Night" is tempered by the fact that styles have changed since then, and Claudette Colbert has done wonders since 1935. There are some moments of fine comedy, and slightly more sex than in today's emasculated pictures, but it just fails to come off completely.

"Lost Horizon," on the other hand is a magnificent picture, unspoiled by time change because no attempt was made to bring in a world outside of Shangri-La.
