At its meeting this evening, the Student Council will choose a Nominating Committee to select candidates for six vacant Council seats. An election, slated for December, will fill the ranks to the normal number with the new members to be picked from the Sophomore, Junior, and Senior classes. Additional nominations will be accepted by Clinton M. Ritchie '47, Council president.

In a sudden flurry of activity, the Council announced yesterday the appointment of a permanent Committee on the General Education Report, under the chairmanship of Levin H. Campbell 3rd '48 of Short Hills, New Jersey, and Adams House. Campbell has also been appointed to a place on the Student Council.

To Study Tutorial

The new Committee, which will study the questions of tutorial and course content, will publish a report similar to those of the Council's Education Committees of 1939, 1940, and 1942. Although the membership is not yet final, the following men are now included in the group: Richard D. Campbell '48, Peter H. Davison '49, Roger S. Kuhn '46, Saul Sherman '47, John Silverstone '49, Peter S. Steffens '47, Alfred Traverse, Jr. '47, and Francis E. Williams '47.

Thomas L. P. O'Donnell '47 announced yesterday that the Council has also selected a chairman for the 1949 Red Book. James F. Ryan '49 of Roxbury and Gore Hall, will fill that position while William G. Thurman '49 of Jacksonville, Florida and Weld Boat House, will become business manager. The remainder of the staff will be appointed in a few days.
