Mr. Average Fan's quest for extra tickets to the Harvard-Yale game Saturday, which has ranged from offers of dance tickets to free rides in a helicopter, reached unparalleled heights yesterday at the secret, sacred practice session of the Varsity football team.

With a wan, understanding smile, the head coach said he was sorry, and wished he had some extras himself. The man nodded sadly, turned, and walked dejectedly in the direction of the Charles River.
