NEW HOUSING RULES LISTED

In an effort to fill requests for housing of over 1,000 married students, the Counsellor for Veterans Housing Office this week revised the priority list of those applications currently active, and established certain rules concerning offerings of adequate housing made to applicants.

Placements, to date, have run at the rate of 10 per cent of applications, according to Donald D. Hathaway, Housing Office head. He also disclosed that a substantial number of listings received by the Office have been refused by applicants.

Desirable places in Dorchester, for instance, have been turned down by some applicants, while others have taken quarters in Cambridge which are inferior to those offered elsewhere and considerably higher in rental.
