Engle's Gridmen See Tough Game, Says Bear Scribe
The experts rate Brown a two touchdown favorite, but the Bruins will come to Harvard Stadium anticipating a rugged game today. Coach Rip Engle is pointing for his first victory over a Harvard team since taking over the reins as head football coach at Brown, and the Bruins are keyed for this tilt, so the Crimson may be black and blue and BROWN-ed into this afternoon.
The Bruins are riding high after victories over two major opponents, Holy Cross and Yale. The Bears nipped the Crusaders, 20 to 19, two weeks ago, and last week defeated a highly-touted Yale eleven in the rain and mud of Yale Bowl, 20 to 14.
Brown will use a modified variation of the T formation that goes by a number of titles, namely the Engle T, the swing T and the wing T. The system employs the right halfback in a wingback position instead of the conventional position in the T formation. Coach Engle believes that this man can be sued to greater advantage in this position that in the regular spot.
