Samborski Counts on Godin To Stop Bruins Here Today

Losses to B.C. Sole Blemish on Brown's Current Standing; Wallace Moved to Right Field

With the memory of two Boston College defeats orased by Wednesday's victory over Columbia, the Ivy League-leading Varsity baseball team will take on a formidable Brown nine at 4 o'clock today on Soldiers Field.

Ira Godin, whose recent relief pitching has been especially effective, is the probable starter for the Crimson squad, with Brendon Reilly slated to face Pennsylvania in a league contest tomorrow. However, if Coach Dolph Samborski decides that Reilly won't be ready for the Quakers, Barry Turner will be sent against the Bruins and Godin saved for Penn.

Turner, the only left-hander on the Varsity staff, has restricted his activity to Jayvee competition thus far this season.

Bruins Have Three Wins

Brown's record to date is three victories and two defeats, and the Bruin opposition has been very similar to the Crimson's. Both losses suffered by the Providence nine have come at the hands of Boston College, but the Eagles had more trouble with Brown than the Varsity was able to offer, winning 8 to 6 and 10 to 4, the latter contest in ten innings Wednesday. On the other and, the Bruins nudged Lowell Textile 9 to 8 while Harvard humiliated the same team 16 to 1.

Captain Jim Bryan is expected to pitch for the visitors today. For the Crimson, Jack Wallace, winning pitcher in the Columbia game, will be stationed in right field, a position he will probably occupy whenever the isn't on the mound. Against the Lions, Wallace went two for four. The rest of Samborski's starting team is unchanged.
