Varsity Harriers Crushed by Rhode Island; Freshmen Outrun R. I. State; Boston College

Crimson cross country forced were stunned yesterday by Rhode Island State, traditional powerhouse, when the first ten men to cross the finish mine were all Rams. The final score was a perfect one, Rhode Island State 15, Harvard 50. The race was run over a fast course at Franklin Park.

In a three-cornered race, the Yardlings upended freshman squads from Boston College. The standings in this test were: Harvard Freshmen, 34; Boston College, 46; Rhode Island State, 50. It was the second win in as many starts for the '52 harriers.

After the meet, Daye Gregory was elected captain of the freshmen cross-country team.

The next meet for both varsity and freshman teams will be next Friday, when they travel to Hanover, New Hampshire, for the annual run against Dartmouth.
