Fist Fight Flares Up During Hard Game

The Crimson's erratic puck squad came to life again Saturday night and gave Dartmouth's potent sextet another run for its money before succumbing 8 to 5 at Hanover.

In spite of unexpected Harvard aggressiveness and Jack Lavalle's monumental 43 saves, the Big Green kept control of the situation until it had amassed a 7 to 2 lead. At this point the smouldering violence responsible for 18 penalties burst into a fist fight between Dave Abbot and Whitey Campbell.

Dartmouth Trainer In Fight

Both players drew majors, but not before the Dartmouth trainer had cost his team a match penalty by interfering in the scrap. This gave Captain Lavalle his choice of which Dartmouth player to eject for the rest of the game. Joe Riley was forthwith dispatched and the Crimson took over, dominating the play and sinking three in two minutes.

Led by Dave Key, the line played its best hockey of the season, although hampered by the loss of Wally Sears with sickness and the subsequent shuffling of players. The Rileys, as usual, sparked the Green with five goals and four assists between them while goalie Dick Desmond's 36 saves gave them a lot of aid on the defensive end.
