Council Rules On Elections Are Now Law

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Discarding a dusty pile of temporary decisions, the Student Council last night permanently codified campaigning rules for all Council and National Student Association elections.

The Regulation governing organizational support reads: "No organization duly constituted and authorized by the Student Council and the administration shall render its services, support, or sponsorship as an organization to a candidate.

"However, individuals, or a group of individuals acting as individuals may support a candidate."

A contestant may spend $10 on his own campaign, whether it be for goldfish or manifestos, but he may not receive financial support from any person or any group.

An Elections Committee will make decisions and injunctions as the campaigning proceeds, subject to final review by the Council.
