Connecticut Shuts out '53 Soccer Team, 2-0

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Unable to muster an adequate offense yesterday, the freshman soccer team was downed 2 to 0 by the University of Connecticut yearlings in a contest played at Storrs.

Minus the services of their high scoring outside Pete Baker who was injured last week, the freshmen lacked the scoring punch which had enabled them to maintain an unbeaten string until yesterday.

The first Connecticut goal came in the second period on a long kick by Jim Pitney. The ball was misjudged by a Crimson fullback, Charley Ufford, who accidentally defected the ball into the Harvard goal.

The Huskies scored again in the third period on a header by John Speller.
