Eleven Faces Same Schedule in '50

Harvard will face the same nine football opponents in 1950 that it is facing this season, and in the same order, according to next fall's schedule released yesterday by Director of Athletics William J. Bingham '16.

In addition, the varsity will play only one out of town game, traveling to Princeton on November 11. This will mark the first time since 1933 that eight games have been held in the Stadium.

Like this year's slate, the 1950 schedule includes no easy games. Coach Art Valpey's third season in Cambridge opens with a six-week home stand, starting on September 30 when Stanford repays the visit Harvard made to Palo Alto last month. The Indians have played once before in the Stadium, in 1931, but their opponent was Dartmouth.

Long Run

After the Stanford game, Columbia, Cornell, Army, Dartmouth, and Holy Cross will perform in the Stadium before the team hits the road. Local followers will be able to see Harvard twice more after it returns from Princeton, when the Crimson entertains Brown and closes against its traditional foe, Yale.

The season starts one week later than it did this year. Under this schedule, the College will have been in session for several days before the opening game and Valpey will have an added week of pre-season practice.

While Harvard has home-and-home arrangements with Columbia, Princeton, and Yale, it has contracts with small-stadium schools like Army whereby the Crimson plays them away only once every four years.
