Wright Will Be Inaugurated As President of Smith Today

Benjamin F. Wright, former professor of Government and Chairman of the General Education Committee at Harvard, will be installed today as the fifth president of Smith college.

President Conant will speak at the ceremonies in Northampton, which open a special two-day 75th anniversary convocation. Delegates from over 60 colleges and universities will attend the inauguration.

Professor Helen Maud Cam and Elesnor Roosevelt will be among the speakers at tomorrow's exercises. Twelve distinguished women will be awarded honorary degrees tomorrow.

They include Professor Cam, Mrs. Roosevelt, Princess Wilhemina of the Netherlands, Senster Margaret C. Smith, President Sarah G. Blanding of Vassar, and President Margaret Clapp of Wellesley.

In the ceremonies today Mrs. Dwight W. Morrow, chairman of the Board of Trustees, will give President Wright the traditional symbols of his office: the College's key, charier, and seal. The inaugural address will then he made by the new president.

Among the academic representatives will be ones from Ginling College, Smith's Smith's "sister" college in China.
