The varsity spring crow season got under way last night when candidates for heavy and 150-pound crews met at Newell Boathouse for a general indoctrination meeting.

Coach Tom Bolles spoke to the group and then showed movies of last year's crew, comparing its technique with that of the 1936 Crimson and Washington State crews.

The 1949 spring schedule lists the first race on April 23 with MIT, Princeton, and Rutgers for the Compton Cup. Later races will be held with Navy, Pennsylvania, Syracuse, Cornell, and finally Yale.
