Summer school students of both sexes will get a chance to cool off together in the Indoor Athletic Building swimming pool every weekday afternoon from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Summer School officials announced yesterday.
The pool will be opened for men only on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, and will be reserved for women on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, it was further revealed.
The Summer School social program also includes regular tea dances, teas, movies, weekly dances in the Union, and, by special arrangement with the Cambridge Summer Theater, will offer special student-rate tickets for the Theater's eight scheduled plays.
On July 6, summer students will be welcomed by President Conant, who will speak in Sanders Theater. After the convocation ceremonies, a free dance will be held in Memorial Hall.
Mrs. Josephine Wilson, social director of the Summer School, announced that there will be dances in the Union every Friday night, and teas every Wednesday evening in the Yard, to be followed by free tea dances in the Union.
The Summer School office stated that arrangements have been made with the American Veterans Committee to run a series of movies on Thursday nights, profits to be turned over to the AVC's Evans Carlson Memorial Scholarship Fund.
