Fourteen varsity trackmen and one freshman will take part in the annual Knights of Columbus track meet tomorrow night at the Boston Garden.
Coach Jaako Mikkola listed his entries yesterday, who, for the most part, were selected during an informal meet with the University of Massachusetts last weekend. Mikkola named Ed Grutzner, Ronnie Berman, Harvey Thayer, and Tom McGill for the one-mile relay, and middle-distance men Joe Rosen. Dave Gregory, Dave Catrus, and George Williams to carry the baton through the two-mile event.
For the 50-yard dash, Mikkola has entered Dick Welskepf, Murray Pearlstein, Dave Carter, and Bill Geick, who won the four beats in the Massachusetts meet. Starting in the high hurdles run will be Charlie Durakis, who went over the 60-yard course in 7.9 seconds on Saturday. Freshman Bob Mello is the only Harvard entry in the pole vault.
Team captain Geoff Tootell, who unofficially topped the Harvard shot put record Saturday, will take pat in that contest, and Mikkola expressed confidence that Tootell "will break the record again."
