Heavy scoring in the first half gave the freshman soccer team a 4 to 3 win over the Dartmouth freshmen yesterday at Hanover.
The Yardlings got off to a fast start in the first period with successive scores by center forward Stan Loeb, wing Steve Joyce, and halfback Juan Rodriguez. Joyce made his goal on a penalty kick for illegal use of hands by a Dartmouth fullback in the penalty area.
In the second period, Joyce scored again. But the Big Green began to click as halfback Tom Corcoran kicked one high into the left hand corner of the goal.
Dartmouth followed up with two goals by forward Bud Addis in the third and fourth quarters.
Harvard lineup: Anderson, g; Rogers, rfb; Platt, lfb; Stroad, rhb; Rodriguez, chb; Whiting, lhb; Joyce, re; Beer, ri; Loeb, cf; Vollenweider, lf; Noble, lo.
