Pigeon Toes

To the Editors of the CRIMSON:

The University is taking two steps which, when observed together, give it the appearance of having an acute case of pigeon toes. On the one foot, it is expending a large sum of money for a plaque commemorating our dead veterans of World War II; on the other, it is contemplating saving money by literally taking the roofs from over the heads of our living veterans.

It is interesting to speculate as to the possible sentiments of the former if given a choice between a memorial plaque for themselves and a memorial housing project--or even a one year housing extension--for their ex-comrades. Monroe Freedman '51
