John N. White '51 of Wayland yesterday was named baseball captain for the year 1950-51. White, a junior, played his first year of varsity baseball this season, holding down the short-stop position.

Clifton D. Crosby '50 of Lowell House and Quincy was awarded the Wingate Trophy for the most valuable player. Crosby, a varsity catcher, hit two home runs this season and stole home three times. In addition to his catching duties, Crosby also pitched a few innings of relief during the season.

Edward N. Foynes, Jr. '50, of Wollaston won the Wendell Bat, awarded annually to the player reaching base the most times, scoring the most runs, driving in the most runs, stealing the most bases, and laying down the most sacrifices.

Ernest E. Monrad '51 of Winthrop House and Los Angeles was named next year's varsity manager.
