Deacons Win in Basketball, Squash

The scorers finally cut loose last night in intra-House basketball games as 14 teams saw action. In the 'A' League, Kirkland beat Adams, 59 to 31; Lowell trounced Dudley, 57 to 33; Eliot whipped Dunster, 53 to 31; and Leverett trimmed Winthrop, 35 to 28.

In 'B' games, the Gold Coasters lost to the Deacons, 28 to 26; Winthrop edged Leverett, 33 to 31; and the Funsters beat the Elephants, 21 to 19.

In squash, Dunster beat Adams, 3 to 2, in the 'A' match but lost by the same score in the 'B' games. The Deacons scored a double win over the Puritans, 5 to 0 in the 'A' League and 4 to 1 in the 'B' match. The Bellboys' 'B' squad beat the Bunnies, 4 to 1.

Lowell and Eliot tied, 2 to 2, in the lone hockey game yesterday. House swimming starts tonight at 7:30 p.m. with two triangular meets and one dual meet.

In Yard National League games, Holworthy whipped Straus South, 30 to 16; Matthews South beat Thayer South, 26 to 22; Massachusetts trounced Thayer Middle, 22 to 7; and Mower trimmed Hollis, 22 to 15.

In the American League, Wigglesworth East crushed Weld South, 30 to 12; Lionel whipped Straus North, 28 to 10; Wigglesworth East crushed Weld South, 30 to 12; and Wigglesworth West topped Weld North.
