Volumes one and two of Theodore Roosevelt's letters will appear on Wednesday, April 18, the University Press announced yesterday.
Covering "The Years of Preparation, 1868-1900," the books include his years at Harvard where he was a member of the Class of 1880. When completed in 1953, the letters will fill eight volumes.
Other University Press books this spring include Margaret Mead's 1950 Inglis Lecture on "The School in American Culture" and the first of the Emily Dickinson papers given last year to Harvard. The opening volume, her letters to Doctor and Mrs. Josiah Gilbert Holland, include over 30 of her poems besides 93 letters.
