HUPD Chief Says Harvard Yard Encampment is Peaceful, Defends Students’ Right to Protest
Reports of a raise in the University board rate seeped into the headquarters of the Student Apathy League yesterday. Norman E. Andrews '51, president of the league, remarked almost immediately, "I really can't see why it had to go all the way from $12.25 to $13."
The membership of the group unanimously failed to signify disapproval of Andrews' protest. He continued, "I always thought the $12.25 rate was a little excessive, but now maybe something ought to be done."
The motion was murmured down.
"Perhaps I ought to stand for permanent class committee on this issue," Andrews muttered. "Of course, that might mean filing a petition."
