Complaints Force Continuation of '54 Council Vote

The Student Council was forced to continue freshman elections, yesterday, when the complaints of one of the candidates were upheld. The candidate charged that the ballots had run out during the evening meal, thus preventing many from voting.

The Council explained last night that although 1,000 ballots had been printed up, this number proved insufficient. Many of the freshmen took ballots but never used them.

Officials reported that Paul D. Sheats, Ebenezer Gay, and John Hirsch were leading at the completion of last night's counting. The other 16 candidates were substantially behind these three. Voting will continue at all meals today.
